Assets Maintenance Management System (AMMS)

Unexpected breakdown due to machine failure in the textile manufacturing plant is costly. Therefore asset maintenance management is key to improving business profits and production planning. The Assets Maintenance Management System detects anomalies, reports potential problems, takes remedial measures for optimising manufacturing and maintenance schedules, and ultimately, improves total business performance.

Application

The system consists of a control panel equipped with barcode reader and keypad, a wireless sensor network, an Asset Condition Acquisition (ACA) device and barcode tags. Wireless ACA devices are installed on the motors, water gate, and main chain of the machine to obtain a real-time operation status. Then the data is transmitted through the wireless sensor network to a back-end server for intelligent analysis. The platform provides the following services:

  • Monitoring of the key machinery assets operation technical data with wireless sensor techniques;
  • Using captured and processed data to monitor the current and/or predicted future states of an asset for maintenance actions and operational decisions;
  • Providing solution assessments so as to improve the effects of the asset maintenance assessment and develop follow-up solutions.
